It also, along with most social networks, launched a Clubhouse-like live audio platform, which it first named Greenroom but relaunched as Spotify Live. It sees this as the next pillar of its streaming service, potentially keeping users locked onto the platform for longer. Spotify has branched off into podcasts, acquiring some of the leading podcasters and podcast networks, such as the Joe Rogan Experience, The Ringer, and Gimlet Media. Most sources agreed that the dance form that’s later known as dabke appeared in the mountainous areas around the Mediterranean coastline and the Tigris river. Eventually, the stomping motion turned into dabke! When people were still building mud houses, they needed to stomp the rooftops to keep the mud from cracking. There’s also a group of historians that think dabke evolved from the process of house-building in old Levantine areas. Other historians then theorized that dabke was a descendant of Phoenician dances dated thousands of years back. The Canaanite performed the same “jumps” in their rituals to chase away evil spirits and protect the crops from being harmed. Some historians said that the feet-stamping motion of dabke was derived from ancient fertility rituals of the Canaan civilization. Like many folk dances around the world, not much is known about the history of dabke. It is a very popular type of wedding dance in Palestine, for example. Like we mentioned at the beginning of the article, dabke is only ever performed on happy occasions. The leader will continuously alternate between facing the dancers and the audience.ĭabke is an incredibly joyous and energetic kind of communal dance. The lawweeh mustn’t just be an expert at dabke, but he must also be accurate, quick, and capable of improvisations. Volition logo face of mars3/10/2023 ![]() The characteristics of this axis involve a fixed and inflexible pattern of delusions of self-importance and uniqueness, an excessive need for admiration, and a lack of empathy, diagnosed according to the DSM IV. ![]() The clinical type is synonymous with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD). The characteristics of this axis involve high self-esteem, deficits in interpersonal relationships, a high likelihood of career success, and low empathy. The healthy type can be considered as a functional and sometimes advantageous set of personality traits. The first axis divides narcissism into 2 categories with respect to the severity of the symptoms – a healthy type and a clinical (dysfunctional) type. Currently, there exist 2 separate axes of distinction. Ĭonsidering the wide spectrum of often-conflicting definitions in the literature, narcissism is a difficult concept to precisely define. Currently, the multidimensional conceptual framework of empathy combines all of the aforementioned perspectives and describes empathy as a complex process. From the cognitive perspective, empathy is the ability to imagine and understand the emotions and motives of others and the ability to be consciously aware of their thoughts, intentions, and desires, which is known as mentalizing or having a theory of mind. In the affective domain, empathy is often understood as the ability to share and co-experience the feelings of others. The definition and operationalization of empathy have been subjects of scientific debate over the past decades. This review paper on neural mechanisms of empathy deficits in narcissism aims to inspire and direct future research in this area. This might hinder the ability to affectively share and understand the emotions of others. Based on the acquired data, we propose a theoretical model of imbalanced SN functioning in narcissism in which the dysfunctional AI hub is responsible for constant DMN activation, which, in turn, centers one’s attention on the self. A recent fMRI study suggests that deficit in empathy is due to a dysfunction in the right AI. Given various classifications, a deficit in empathy may be considered a central dysfunctional trait in narcissism. AI might play a role as a crucial hub – a dynamic switch between 2 separate networks of cognitive processing: the central executive network (CEN), which is concerned with effective task execution, and the default mode network (DMN), which is involved with self-reflective processes. The AI and ACC are the main nodes in the salience network (SN), which selects and coordinates the information flow from the intero- and exteroreceptors. The primary brain structures involved in mediating the components of empathy are the anterior insula (AI), the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), and specific regions of the medial prefrontal cortex (MPFC). The side we did not see was all broken up.From a multidimensional perspective, empathy is a process that includes affective sharing and imagining and understanding the emotions of others. Had we seen both sides of the face, we may not have thought it was a face. In the original Viking image, we did not see the part of the face that was all broken up-we just saw the best side of the face. The human brain has specialized mechanisms for face recognition, and can easily interpret what it sees as a face. Pareidolia is the tendency of a human observer to interpret a configuration of objects as a human face. However, this notion is not accepted by any Mars scientist, and higher resolution photos of the face taken by the HiRISE cameras of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter have shown that it is just an ordinary land-form. One might guess that with better images, the face would look more like a face, but it just looks like a broken up mesa.ĭue to the fact that the first few pictures of the face showed a face like structure due to shadows, fringe theories have arisen that the face (and surrounding mesas) were built by an alien civilization, and that NASA was covering up the evidence. This article has been updated with many pictures that were taken with more advanced cameras then the original image that showed the face. Git add remote origin already exists3/10/2023 “origin” is a convention, not a part of the `git remote` command ![]() Looks like this, as you probably already know: It associates the “url” parameter with the “name” you pass in. This is how you can attach a remote to your repository. ![]() Git remote add is going to be the most commonly used command. Let’s cover the few specific use-cases relevant to us briefly below: You can read the full documentation here, but for the purposes of solving the error this article is about, we are going to be most concerned with “add”, “remove”, and “reset-url”. Git’s `remote` tool provides a number of commands to configure remotes: add, remove, rename, etc. Usually, this isn’t something that happens automatically - you need to configure remotes by hand Now that we’ve covered what a remote repository is and why it’s necessary, it’s time to talk about how you can attach one to your local repository. In a nutshell, a remote repository is where you upload your locally stored changes so that others can access them. This means that your code usually lives in multiple places - in your local Git repository, in the remote one living on the server (GitHub is the most well known server), and in the file system of anybody else who has downloaded your work from the remote repository into a local repository of their own. Then, when somebody pulls from that remote repository, they receive your changes and end up with the same code you have. Every time you run the `git push` command, you push your latest changes into that remote repository. A remote repository is a Git repository that lives on a server and is set up to be a mirror of your local work. This is where remote repositories, or remotes, come in. The tradeoff is that your code isn’t easily accessible to others, so you need to regularly upload your changes to a server in order for other people to access them. This meant that everybody always had access to the same data, because they were all working from the same server, but changes were slow to update and relied on a stable internet connection at all times.īecause all work stored in a Git repository lives in your local file system, source control operations are blazing fast and don’t require an internet connection, since you don’t upload each change to a server as it happens. Those tools were known as centralized version control systems ( SVN or Subversion are the most well known examples), and they only operated on data hosted on a server by uploading changes in real time. This is different from many of the source control tools that preceded Git. In fact, Git is referred to as a distributed version control system because the source code is stored, or distributed, locally across any number of computers and servers. To understand what a remote repository is, it’s important to first understand that Git stores and operates on your data in your local file system. This error is usually caused by misunderstanding one of several things: what a remote repository is, how the `remote` command works, or more specifically what “origin” part of these commands means. ![]() To help you avoid making this mistake again, let’s unpack the concept of remote repositories a little. The case in which you would need to type git remote add origin is when you are not cloning from github but instead you typed git init on your local machine and there is not remote, so you'll have to manually add the github url as a remote called origin or whatever other name you like. It’s possible to inadvertently configure your local repository wrong if you don’t totally get what the commands that you’re running mean, or if you cloned a repository that already has a remote with the name “origin” configured. If you do that a remote called origin would be automatically setup for you, therefore you do not need to add as a remote manually by typing git remote add origin. The command to clone your github repo is git clone. You can check by typing git remote -v which will show you all the remotes of your git repo. The reason you're getting remote origin already exist is because a remote by the name of origin already exists. Nightingale book3/10/2023 ![]() Wehrmacht officers saw postings in occupied France as practically a vacation and were under strict orders from army command to treat French civilians with upmost civility. At this point in the war rounding up these “undesirables” was the job of the SS and the Gestapo, not the Wehrmacht. Herr Captain Beck is introduced as a Wehrmacht officer but apparently has time to spare for making lists of Jews, homosexuals, and freemasons living in Carriveau. Because there’s no explanation-it would have been ridiculous. Why the Germans would establish an airbase south of Paris for the battle of Britain is never explained. Although Carriveau is a small town the writer has to lever a large German contingent in it and therefore invents a Luftwaffe airbase. But in order for it to be full of Nazis it can’t be in the Vichy zone of France which was not occupied by Germany after the Armistice. She has Isabelle leave Paris for the south just before the Germans arrive so Carriveau has to be south of Paris and near the Loire valley. Here is where the plotting begins to run into problems.
